Before and After Pictures

What is Stained Concrete?

If you’re looking to protect your concrete against chipping and peeling, but you want a solution that doesn’t just look good, but unique, stunning, almost glamorous, stained concrete is definitely what you need.

With it, we are able to give your floor different colors and hues unattainable with any other system. These floors can either be very consistent in color or present mixed colorations blending together to confer a very artistic feel. The main systems we use are acid stains which chemically react with the concrete, and metallics, or epoxy stains, that are topical coatings.

Stained concrete is the only flooring system that integrates the incredibly robust and long-lasting nature of concrete, with the richness and variety of finishes like granite, marble, travertine, sandstone, flagstone, and slate.

Your floors will look like unique pieces of art.

You can choose between many sheens: from matte to high gloss.

There’s no limit to the colors you can have.

This system is great for hiding defects in your floors (with metallic stains).

Alternatively, you can highlight the character of your concrete (with acid stains).

The Process

  1. We first wash or grind (based on the size of the area) your concrete to remove tough contaminants, stains, oil and chemicals.
  2. We apply stains to the surface with one of two methods:
    • Acid based stains chemically react with concrete, literally changing its surface, to provide a variegated, custom aesthetic, unique to each slab.
    • Metallics, or epoxy stains are topical coatings who bond with the surface.
